Valentine Gifts
A dozen red roses, the finest chocolates and a bottle of bubbly – these are traditional Valentine’s gifts that Fosseway Garden Centre does well.
Let our florist arrange the roses, which are top quality, deepest red, sourced fresh from Holland. As for the chocolates – for something a little different we have the Bon Chocolat range from the Pyranees, which includes a bag of delicious little love hearts, made from 70% cocoa with a thin sugar shell, that Bon Chocolat assures us are a real delicacy in France and the perfect way to say ‘I love you’.
But if you want something less traditional, you can expect so much more from us. We love hearts: we have Gisela Graham hearts to string across a wall; hearts to hang up made of fabric, metal or wood; heart-shaped hat boxes; heart-shaped photo frames and coat hooks. How about a traditional teapot with ‘LOVE’ across it? Or a shopping bag or a throw dusted with hearts? Or pink wellies decorated with hearts?
The friendly Fosseway Garden Centre team have even more great ideas for Valentine’s gifts, so ask them for their favourite gift suggestions.
And don’t forget, we have an excellent choice of cards, wrapping paper and gift bags, tags, ties, ribbons, bows and trimmings, making Fosseway Garden Centre your one stop gift destination.

How Valentine Gifts Started
History of Valentines Day
The day is named after one or more early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine, and was established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD. It was deleted from the General Roman Calendar of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI.

It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines"). The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. Modern Valentine's Day symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards. Wikipedia
