Trees
Trees can have flowers, attractive leaves, fruits and berries or even coloured bark…..and some trees have more than one of these attributes!
Fosseway Garden Centre has a wide selection of trees, including the catalpa, and trees already trimmed into topiary shapes.
We have impressive, statement trees for the larger garden, but many tree varieties are suitable for today’s smaller gardens, and some, such as Japanese Maples, can even spend their life in pots.
With the revival in growing your own, fruit trees should not be forgotten, and a bay tree will add fragrance and flavour to your cooking.
We appreciate that buying a tree is an important decision: a tree is a major purchase and an important statement in your garden, and if you buy one that is too large it could block your drains with roots, or send its roots under your house! That’s why our workforce has been trained to advise you on the best trees for your situation.
Fosseway Garden Centre personnel care about finding the right tree for the size of your garden, the soil, the aspect, the shelter or lack of it. We will also endeavour to source a tree for you if we don’t have it in stock.

Tree Advice & Tips
Planting Trees
Planting new trees and shrubs is not a difficult job, but one to get right, if you want your new plants to have the best start in life. The most important considerations are root health, weather, soil conditions and aftercare.
When & How To Plant Trees
Planting is best done between October and April.
Loosen the soil generally to eliminate compaction and improve drainage.
Improve background fertility by incorporating fertiliser, organic matter and lime.
