Seeds & Bulbs
At Fosseway Garden Centre you will find a wide range of seeds, along with pots, trays, compost, dibbers and labels, as well as the best composts for germination and potting on seedlings.
Because we want our customers to be assured of an excellent rate of germination from the seeds they buy from us, we only stock seeds from reliable suppliers, such as Mr Fothergills and Johnsons.
Tomatoes are a perfect example of this, and in pots, hanging baskets or beds their brilliant colours can be complemented with a display of annuals, which you can also grow from seed – browse our seed stands to make your choice.
Some perennials and almost all bedding plants are relatively easy to grow from seed, and you don’t necessarily need a greenhouse or propagator (heat box) to germinate most annual seeds (but, of course, we can supply these too) – covering a seed tray or pot with a polythene bag and placing it on a window-ledge is a good method.
But some of the smaller seeds can be hard to grow and not everyone has the time to prick out or pot on, so buying bedding plants as seedlings or plug plants is also popular.

From winter to summer bedding plants our range is extensive so if you would like to discover what offers are available just sign up to our email newsletter or simply contact us direct and ask us what special offers are on.
Seeds & Bulbs Advice & Tips
Sense of Pride & Achievement
Seeds can be a cheap way of starting your vegetable garden and there is always a sense of pride and achievement, usually mixed with amazement, when your plants are big and healthy with a delicious, heavy crop.
Pick the Best Quality
To ensure you get the best quality, pick large bulbs - the more mature the bulb, the larger the flowers.
Try to plant your bulbs as soon as possible, however if this is not possible and you have to put off bulb planting for a few days, store your bulbs in a dry, dark and cool place between 50° and 60°F (10° and 15°C).
