Roses; the Ultimate Symbol of Romance - A Rose for Every Situation

Roses are versatile and hardy, their colours are sensational and they can be exquisitely fragrant. They come in many different types - climbers and ramblers, large and small bushes, trailing and ground cover, and can be grown in borders and beds, pots or containers, so with careful planning you can have roses blooming from early summer into late autumn.

At Fosseway Garden Centre we stock a good choice of rose varieties, including David Austen roses – the famous British bred roses that combine the best features of the old varieties with those of the modern ones.

Being versatile, roses will grow in a wide range of soils and situations; however they do prefer a well-drained clay soil. They also benefit very well from a good feed in spring and early July.

Our knowledgeable team will advise you on planting conditions, soil requirements, and your choice of rose’s preferred location so you can be sure that it will thrive in your garden. If you have a dull border in need of an injection of colour, a shady garden, or just want something to fill that space, any of our staff will be more than willing to give advice!

To give your roses a perfect start and to keep them in condition, we have everything you need, including Toprose fertiliser, and Roseclear spray. For handling your roses we stock gloves and quality secateurs, whilst you will find all kinds of gardening books in our extensive book department.
